Samenvatting

This publication consists of 28 papers that explore reducing side collisions of transit buses, injury risk in collisions involving buses, prevention of tractor–semitrailer rollovers, large-truck transportation alternatives, evaluating truck safety systems, factors associated with motorcycle crashes, and severity of motorcyclist injuries. This issue of the TRR also examines glancing and stopping behavior of motorcyclists and car drivers, impact of belt use by rear-seat occupants, effectiveness of ticketing aggressive car and truck drivers, driver response to automated speed enforcement, speed reduction treatments in highway work zones, deployment of intersection safety cameras, targeted pedestrian traffic enforcement programs, enforcement engineering, simulator-based training, transportation services for seniors, and liability issues of volunteer driving programs.
