It is reasonable to expect that reflectorized plates bring about a reduction of 6.5% of all night rear-end accidents. This paper notes also that the cost-benefit approach to program planning is also applicable to a wide range of safety programs and utilization of cost-benefits analysis of highway safety is a growing trend.
