Samenvatting
A review of recently completed Federal-aid highway projects was made. The purpose was to review, as objectively as possible, if recently completed highway projects were following current safety principles and concepts. In addition, safety upgrading projects on older Federal-aid highways were also reviewed to determine their timeliness and impact on safety. The review attempts to reflect national trends, identify safety problem areas, and recommended measures to strengthen safety efforts. Many examples are given.
