Since many years some highways and squares in The Netherlands are arranged in a special way to improve the liveability regarding traffic. From these areas the, "woonerf" or residential yard is the most important phenomenon. A new juridical rule in made because of the particular mutual relations between the different road users have to be legislated. The application of the"woonerf" must be stimulated, but it is not possible or desirable on all places.
