This report is based on the Danish Road Safety Council’s annual, nationwide observations of the use of bicycle helmets among cyclists in Denmark. The nationwide observations consist of two separate sets of observations: 1) City traffic: Cyclists observed on weekdays at different times of day in city traffic, and 2) School traffic: Cycling school children observed in front of schools in the morning. In 2020, a total of 11,731 cyclists were observed in city traffic and 8,315 school children were observed in school traffic.
