Samenvatting

During the period 1 June 1970 to 31 May 1971, accidents involving injuries were investigated by Royal Canadian Mounted Police in British Columbia to determine the relationship between vehicle damage and injury severity. Injury severity and damage severity scales were developed. Results are tabulated and show that the number and severity of injuries tend to increase as vehicle damage increases and that 75% of fatal injuries occurred in most severely damaged vehicles.
