Samenvatting

Experiments were conducted recently to uncover ergonomic problems and to evaluate the effects of design alternatives on human performance when remotely controlling the teleoperated sensor-equipped experimental robot system (EROS) vehicle. Efforts were focused on the control and visual links between the operator and vehicle. Reported here are the results of experiments comparing the effects of mono- and stereoscopic visual links on remote operator performance with steering and approach-braking tasks.
