Samenvatting

The purpose of this paper is fourfold. First the life cycle in the design and development of a typical system is described. Second, the nature of human factors engineering requirements are mentioned. Third, the requirements are related to the systems development cycle and finally a brief evaluation is made of the tools and information available to the human factors engineer.
