Samenvatting

This book considers road design and construction in relation to human capabilities and psychology. It examines how high levels of mobility can be combined with a high level of safety. Ways in which road and transport system design can be matched with human strengths, limitations and variability are discussed. This book is aimed at highway designers and students of road safety and contains eighteen separately-authored chapters. A glossary of psychological and medical terminology is provided. For abstracts of the chapters see C 20507 - C 20524 (ITRD E112007-E112020 and E112239-E112242).
