Samenvatting

This article presents a summary of the findings of a study that examined the risk of cell phone usage while driving. Using data collected in Perth,Australia, the study compared cell phone use within 10 minutes before an actual crash occurred with use by the same driver during the prior week. Researchers concluded that a driver's risk of getting into a crash serious enough to injure themselves increased fourfold when using cell phones while driving. Results from the study also found that the risk of injury didn't differ whether hand-held or hands-free cell phones were used.
