Implementing a roadway lighting system based on the visibility index concept.

Results of the simulation study indicate that the Visibility Index distribution improves with uniformity of illumination and for a given uniformity, Visibility Index improves with increase in illumination. This suggests that Visibility Index will be specifiable in conventional Horizontal Tool Candle terms for given pavement types.
