Samenvatting
This report provides a review of the implementation of urban transport policies in the light of recommendations made in the joint ECMT and OECD report enttitled Urban Travel and Sustainable Development published in 1995. The review was undertaken from 1998-2001and this report contains a synthesis report covering socioeconomic, institutional and environmental contexts, national experience in policy development, lessons for policy implementation and eleven reviews by national governments (Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland and the USA).
