Any country wishing to predict rationally the evolution of traffic in the years to come faces an extremely difficult task since the study relates not only to the probable increase of the world car population, but also to the improvement of the quality of life of motorists on the one hand and of the general public on the other. These different aspects are discussed from the Belgian point of view.
