Samenvatting
The change in policy in favour of public transport in the U.S.A. is started in 1955. As a result of this change in some places rapid transit systems or underground railways are built. Examples are the Washington Metro, the BART-Line in San Francisco and the Lindenwold-line in Philadelphia. In other areas the accent for transport is still the car which is not always accepted as positive. Some other minor possibilities for public transport are also described.
