Samenvatting

Magnetic nails are often used as position sensors for Advanced Highway Systems. There is a trade-off between the accuracy of the position sensors and the construction cost. Lateral deviation measured on a vehicle will include position errors in the practical situation. In this paper, the method of improving the accuracy of the position sensors (magnetic nails) by use of Kalman filter is shown and the effect of Kalman filter is confirmed by simulations. The relationship between the interval of the magnetic nails and the accuracy of the lateral position is clarified when Kalman filter is used.
