Samenvatting
This paper proposes a preview speed control system for suppression of theshockwave propagation to prevent traffic congestion using an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) communication system that transmits the speed or acceleration information from a downstream vehicle or infrastructure toupstream vehicles. The simulation studies show the improvement of the traffic flow by the proposed system even under a condition of a low penetration rate of the communication system.
