Samenvatting

The integration of dynamic route guidance and traffic control systems offers some big advantages in the scope of modern traffic management. Based on an improved knowledge about the traffic situation advanced strategies for the control are possible. Different levels of integration may be implemented. However, some problems have first to be solved; these relate to stability of the control and the different types of measurement within the two systems. An important aspect of the integrated system is the handling of data, which will be managed by means of a relational database structure within a distributed system. (A)
