Samenvatting
In the traffic management system "stadtinfokoeln", a modern, comprehensive, user-friendly Transport and Traffic Information System is built. Within the system for private transport information the MOTION Incident Detection (MID) is tested which is delivering information about the current traffic situation. General ideas about incident detection and the application by MID are described. In different demonstrations in Cologne practical experiences were made with results that can be transferred to other cities and urban road networks. The next step of "stadtinfokoeln" is the application of the MID results for strategic control via collective and individual user interfaces in the traffic management and information system of Cologne.
