In view of the new trend for the Japanese freight industry to fit digital tachographs to its vehicles, the licensed digital tachograph and a vehicle computer using Windows CE software were fitted experimentally to the lorries of the Sanwa Express Corporation, based in Tokyo. The advanced freight operation system developed by this company 10 years ago and their logistics system were integrated with the new equipment. The new system unified all management information as digital data and provided significant management reports direct to the company's offices.
