Samenvatting
Most racing organizations require drivers to wear crash helmets. The added weight and inertia of such helmets can, under certain conditions, contribute to injury rather than reduce it. A simulation approach to the evaluation of additional injuries which may exist in rear end collisions is discussed and a mathematical model of whiplash injury is presented.
