Samenvatting
Tolerance limits for the variation of illumination on road surfaces are closely examined in the Soviet Union and elsewhere. According to Code SN- 278- 64 the ratio between maximum brightness levels for streets and roads in the higher categories should not exceed 3: 1. The difference s of these limits as laid down in the national codes of various countries are discussed.
