Samenvatting

The influence of vehicle size on adult pedestrian injuries is considered by reference to the incidence of serious head injuries sustained by adult pedestrians struck by vehicles with differing bonnet length. Data from in-depth studies are used to show that bonnet length influence the location of adult head contacts on the vehicle and this may be the reason for the variation in head injury severity with changing bonnet length.
