Samenvatting

In traffic accidents people often sustain head injury. Particularly in case of car accidents damage to the brain is often caused. Persons recovering from diffuse brain injury often come with the request to drive a car again. The influence of residual symptoms on traffic behaviour, however, are very unclear and there are no criteria available to decide if a patient is sufficiently recovered in order to resume participation in traffic as a driver. This paper describes a field experiment in which it was attempted to explore the driving ability of these patients.
