By studying this group of companies, it might be possible to anticipate to infrastructural shortcomings in the Dutch location `profile'. An introduction is given to economic motives to internationally relocate (parts of) companies. The attractiveness of infrastructure as a location choice factor for companies is described in more detail. The relationship between international location behaviour and infrastructure supply is studied. For this purpose, interviews were conducted among six Japanese and six American companies in the Netherlands, and seven Dutch companies in Poland. In these case studies, the companies' transport flows and systems are also investigated. The Dutch infrastructure and location policy is also described in the article.
