Samenvatting

The long term effect of Michigan's child restraint law on injuries to children covered by the law, and intermediate effects of Michigan's adult seat belt use law on injuries and fatalities among those affected by the law, was measured. Based on theresults, the child restraint law has prevented 8283 injuries, representing cost of savings of $ 30.8 million since implementation. For the adult law 43493 injuries were prevented and $ 548.1 million for cost savings.
