Samenvatting

The headline, "innovative concepts for the mobile society", expresses the insight that the pure technical management of traffic systems has to be extended, if the aim of sustainable mobility shall be realised. This extension consists in concepts, which work before traffic can be seen on roads and tracks - at the mobility needs of human beings and the mobility demand of institutions. In addition, user, who have problems to be part of the information society, but who are important part of the mobile society, need support for the use of technological based products e.g. information systems. This is a basic condition for economic success as well as for the effectiveness for all technological products. To hit both aims the national German research project MOBINET identified new mobility patterns/user needs and developed on this fundament new innovative concepts for mobility management at the conurbation of Munich, like peripheral telecenters, innovative distribution systems like the Shopping-Box, mobility management for enterprises and MOBIKIDS - sustainable mobility for children and teenagers. This contribution wants to show MOBINET as an example for a successful integration and transformation of technical-oriented traffic management projects to integrated mobility management for the whole region of a conurbation, including the principles of sustainability and agenda 21. After a short overview about the context and objectives, the theoretical approach is shown, which is the base for the practical implementation of demonstration projects. Successful strategies for gaining political acceptance and dissemination of the concepts are considered. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.
