Samenvatting

With the environmental pressures in North America to promote sustainable development and to reduce the waste generated from highway rehabilitation works, recycling of pavement materials has become common practice. Canadian consultants and contractors are world leaders in cost effective recycling technologies. These technologies are now being exported to developing countries where even without environmentally driven regulatory pressures, it can be shown that recycling is the most cost-effective solution for highway rehabilitation. This paper describes one such example in the Dominican Republic. (A)
