Samenvatting

Cities in developing countries are experiencing rapid urbanization and high congestion in city streets. In many cities of developing countries, Servis Taxis are the main means of public transport. The use of Servis Taxis has several disadvantages: They increase pollution, traffic congestion and energy consumption. This report documents an innovative system that has been tried in the city of Zarka, Jordan, where Servis Taxis on some lines were partially exchanged for minibuses, on a voluntary basis.
