Samenvatting
The infrastructure (for instance road and rail infrastructure) in the Netherlands is confronted with increasingly higher demands. Therefore, it is necessary to achieve a synthesis of the following tasks concerning fitting in of infrastructure: (1) the control task directed at minimalizing disturbing effects at minimal costs; and (2) the design task aimed at generating the maximum spatial quality and `spin-off'. In this paper, ideas are formulated to achieve such a synthesis, from three points of view: (a) a policy vision on fitting in of infrastructure; (b) fitting in and innovation; and (c) choice processes about fitting in.
