Samenvatting
A survey was carried out in 130 Dutch cities to the use and installation of public lighting. During the nineteen eighties most cities have carried out an energy conservating policy but keeping the most effectful way of street lighting in mind. The luminaires, the intensity, the use of lighting, aspects of saving costs, aspects of traffic safety, accident prevention, personal safety and luminance are taken into account.
