Samenvatting

Review of the European practice followed in the area of up-to-date traffic management, the role of telematics and the possibilities of applying an integrated, collective and dynamic traffic control for the motor way network and for a particular region (interfaces to the various traffic control centers and data bases). Identification of a set of tools which would be optimal, considering the current technological level in road infrastructure, for joining the European system of traffic management with the limitation that the Hungarian system should, without major costs, reach the state-of-the-art in the future. In the knowledge of the managed network, modelling of the different traffic control strategies bound to the particular traffic situations. Testing and evaluation of the eligible models. Examination of the various solution models applicable for acute traffic problems (elements of point-like, section and network control). Examination of the possibilities of development. Complementing the system with the developments of telematics (communication systems, navigation systems, etc.). Examination of possibilities of extending the system over the various elements of the road networks (trunk roads, border crossings, urban traffic control centers). (A)
