Samenvatting
Road traffic control and management systems are considered in this chapter. The first part gives a general description of the possibilities to study and optimise traffic control off line. Thereafter a description of some operational control systems is presented. Recommendations for use are given for safety, delay, travel time, density, stops, queue length, fuel consumption, and environmental aspects.
