Samenvatting
The paper sets out the value to be gained in making positive use of ITS tools and techniques to support an integrated transport policy aimed at achieving sustainable mobility. The European experience is outlined, and the paper looks forward towards a Europe which provides citizens with mobility choices of quality and the high technical standard possible through ITS. The importance of driving innovation forward in achieving deployment, and the interactions between policy development, policy packages, research and innovation, and successful deployment are highlighted.
