Integrated transportation planning for meeting the needs for all inhabitants.

In the 70's the Danish city of Odense worked out a new comprehensive development plan dealing a.o. with the traffic situation. In spite of the growth in number of private motorcars, it was found, that less than half of all trips in the city, was made with private cars. Other trips were made by walking, using bicycle or public transport. A plan was made for a bicycle track and footpath system and for public transport.
