Samenvatting
Many cities in developing and developed countries face large transport problems with the growing mobility and car- use. Congestions, air- and noise- pollution due to heavy car traffic in the cities, are becoming a threat to a sound urban development. This paper illustrates a solution for the particular case of Curacao, and some of the difficulties, to be expected, when integrating existing public transport systems. After a detailed analysis of the case a comparison is made between some developing countries and Curacao which are characterised by the existence of paratransit as an important form of public transport.
