Samenvatting
Under the EU 6th Framework Program, the ERTICO led Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure Systems (CVIS) project is being deployed within London. CVIS looks to develop systems and standards for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-road network communications and implementing the initial technology demonstrators. This paper examines the application of CVIS technology in an urban test environment, allowing freight operators to book a dedicated loading bay in a dynamic manner. Comment is given on the development of suitable criteria for choosing a test site, with a variety of parameters considered. Operational effectiveness of the test site applications is examined and feedback on results is provided.
