The paper presents preliminary results of an investigation into volume changes in bicycle and car traffic in Delft between 1982 and 1985 after implementation of the bicycle network enhancement plan. The investigation is a before and after study with experimental and control areas. The findings show that bicycle enhancement measures have caused a, major part of the significant increase in measured bicycle
