Intercity passenger transport travel in Egypt : performance and problems.

Some aspects of the present performance and problems of both railway and overland-bus intercity passenger travel are presented. The main purpose is to emphasize the difficulties that face the decision maker in absence of research activities. It is indicated how research activities affect the efficiency and effectiveness of the decision-making process and policy on transport in Egypt.
