The ‘Interdisciplinary Learning in Road Safety: Curricular Links’ pack and accompanying leaflet have been developed by West Dunbartonshire Council to assist educational establishments in planning and delivering effective learning and teaching in line with the Curriculum for Excellence. The pack sets out the experiences and outcomes for the extensive range of road safety education and training projects delivered by our educational establishments. These road safety projects are based upon experiences and outcomes from within and across different curriculum areas. The projects provide relevant, challenging and enjoyable learning experiences and stimulating contexts to meet the varied needs of children and young people. Interdisciplinary learning in road safety ensures progression in both road user knowledge and skills, deepens understanding and makes road safety education more coherent and meaningful from the learner’s point of view.
