Samenvatting

This study is one component of a much larger project seeking to fundamentally improve safety in intersection design and operation. The aim was to comprehensively analyse Victorian intersection crash data for the period 2000 to 2005. Common elements of intersection crashes were identified as were dominate crash types which resulted in serious casualties. The outcomes from this analysis will assist in prioritising safety improvements for a selected number of intersections. Results of this study will be used to develop criteria in the development, justification, and prioritisation of intersection safety improvement projects. (Author/publisher)
