Samenvatting
The design and drafting of projects in the Federal Republic of Germany is described from the planning of objectives to the mathematical models used for traffic forecasting. The general problems of road data banks are outlined. The road data bank is used as a basis for traffic safety studies and the introduction of measures such as road markings, road signs, construction of cycle tracks and loop roads, constructional modifications to existing traffic installations with a view to improving safety.
