In Japan the ETC (Electronic Toll Collection System) utilization rate hasbeen over 80%. Because the demand of ETC become high and new toll discount offers for using ETC has attracted many people, the ETC utilization willincrease and the social impact of closing ETC lanes by road repairing andinspection will become huge. On this research paper, we are going to introduce the portable ETC backup system to install the ETC system in non-ETC lane temporarily when the ETC system breaks down.
