An inventory of foreign regulations and standard demands regarding road roughness has been made. The purpose was the bringing together of such regulations regarding in part the performance control of new pavements and in part the criteria for the need of resurfacing. The most common method used for the measurement of road roughness is the measurement by straightedges of varying lengths.
