Samenvatting

In this research, driving simulation tests were carried out to explore the effects of cellular telephone use on driver errors and overall traffic safety. These errors were used as a measure of driver distraction. Results show that the danger of being distracted does not end with the termination of a telephone call, and that there is no significant difference between using a hands-free or a handheld cellular telephone device.
