Samenvatting

This study was designed to assess the precision of the Bausch and Lomb Ortho-Rater perimeter in determining the lateral visual fields of individuals. Twenty-two college students with uncorrected vision were examined on both an Ortho-Rater perimeter and a more sensitive clinical perimeter. An examination of lateral visual field (LVF) values and total visual field (TVF) measurements indicated that 1) LVF values and TVF Values may be generally lower (narrower) on the Ortho-Rater than those obtained on a device such as might be found in a clinical setting and 2) Ortho-Rater LVF measurements for right and left eyes may not detect existing LVF differences between eyes.
