This report was prepared as part of a joint National Road Transport Commission (NRTC) and Federal Office of Road Safety (FORS) study into ways of improving the performance of braking systems on heavy vehicles. It examines the cost and benefits of a range of innovations which may improve the sevicing and maintenance of heavy vehicle brakes and discusses other means of enhancing or maintaining the performance of such braking systems.
