Samenvatting
Traffic signs, markings and signals recommended for the 1971 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices were evaluated in laboratory as well as on the road to measure the recognizability of both standard and experimental signs. Visual presentation was chosen as the independent variable. A questionnaire was designed to provide information about the preference of the road user for one control device over another.
