Samenvatting

This not describes investigation into the factors that affect the amount of water thrown up by vehicles travelling on wet road (splash and spray) and into means for controlled the spray. The effectiveness of mudflaps or other devices is expressed in terms of the numerical factor by which the spray density is reduced when they are fitted. The reduction in visibility caused by a spray is discussed briefly, but the effect of spray density on windscreen or the spray cloud itself wad not investigated.
