Samenvatting

Sight distance were measured on six lengths of rural trunk road in England and Wales and the results are presented. Using correlogram analysis techniques, an attempt is made to determine the nature of the variation in sight distance for the sample of roads considered. Theoretical calculations using a simple circular arc model of a bend were made to investigate the variation of sight distance at a bend.
