A traffic conflict is any potential accident situation. The traffic conflicts technique is a means of analyzing roadway intersections through observation and tabulation of five basic categories of conflicts: left-turn, weave, cross-traffic rear-end and violation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the application of the traffic conflicts technique to rural roadway intersection.
